Hi everyone, I know it has been a while since we’ve given you a proper update. As you all know, Andy recently made his journey back to Australia, and this has been taxing on our time in all regards. Rest assured, nothing is abandoned, delays are temporary, and projects are all still in the works.

Firstly, the UJ comic updates have taken the most noticable beating into shortened page uploads since Andy’s arrival. We apologise for this, although we thank everyone for understanding our current position. Time has needed to be taken out of comic time in order to allow Andy to settle back in, seeing as he’s just shifted himself to another country for the next year and possibly the rest of his life. We’ve needed to re-adjust things and hopefully, UJ Deviant Cause will go back to regular updates. We will be reviewing the schedule itself, for although it has worked, it may be subject to another change.

If You Believe will be ending its hiatus as of this week and the coming weekend will see new IYB strips again. This update schedule is also subject to change in future but for now should remain at fornightly Monday updates.

As Andy mentioned a few weeks back before his flights, the wallpapers and the donation system are going to change. Calendars will be removed from the existing wallpapers from this year will go under the heading 2008 instead of Calendar wallpapers. The donations system will switch to a single link in which donators can leave notes as to whoch wallpaper they would like as a gift and we will be emailing them out manually and individually.

With that said, the Halloween wallpaper this year will be chosen through a poll on our forums. Readers on the forums were encouraged to suggest themes for this wallpaper, which will be decided through a vote. Tomorrow, 1st Oct the poll will be created and readers are invited to vote for the wallpaper theme they’d like to see. The runner up of the final vote will receive a free copy of the Halloween Wallpaper. The winner of the vote, will not only receive a free copy of the halloween wallpaper, but will also receive a set of glossy prints of the four covers of Ultima-Java: History, signed by Andy, myself and Steven Olden. Voting will end on October 10th.

As the Mauve Mage comic continues to run into problems and delay so too does our morale take a beating to get this spotlight work done for the forumite, Mauve Mage. Very soon we hope to correct the problems that arose and finally have it online.

Now then, as mentioned before Andy and I have been tied up with getting him housed and settled in Australia again. He hasn’t had time to finish his final video for his moving progress. Like everything else, it’s coming soon!

Lastly, some site changed and and updates could be just around the corner, look out for changed and upgrades, and thank you for donations that keep the site running.

...Because I got a lot to say.

Straight to business: Deviant Cause is having a two part update this week. Pages #11 and #12 go up tonight, and #13 will go up tomorrow when I post page #4 of Universe-2. As you know I typically have these problems with IYB more than anything else, but it’s more of the same problem I’m afraid. IYB has been suffering the most from the state of my arm, and I’m fully convinced that I have some form of repetitive starin injury. The length of time I can CG art and comics has been getting shorter and shorter. Sometimes this dent in the even flow of updates is marred further by a particularly detailed page. This is what’s helped influence the immediate change of plans to continue with the 3 page updates as opposed to a forementioned increase to 4 pages. I simply can’t do it. The other reason behind the sudden change back is that I’m having a busier life right now regardless of the extra day off of work every week. My time for other UJ related work I have to do is seriously compromised and I can’t fit everything in. Something had to change. Going back to updates, this contributed to this week’s two part updates. But you got 4 pages last update so nyah. :P

There’s a healthy chance things could get a bit skinny around here anyways in the next 2-3 weeks, as a lot of my time is going to go toward preparing for Andy’s arrival back in Australia. He told me the good news last week when he booked his flight and now we have some dates. He will be arriving at 6am on Wednesday 17th September, and the bugger is going to sleep on the flights so he’s going to hit me like a train when he sees me at the airport. That’s what happened last time.

Finally the new donator wallpaper is finished and Andy will have it up later. I’ve been looking forward to September for a long time for two reasons. Guess why.

Well folks it’s finally happening! After years of waiting to get to see Qeeko again, I applied for my Working Holiday Visa tonight (one year) and I got a reply within moments telling me that my visa was approved!

In less than a month I’ll be winging my way to Australia, for the minimum of 1 year! If all goes well, even longer!

Here it is, finally I get my freedom!

Aren’t you lucky little readers! Deviant Cause updates today with FOUR pages! We’re starting to delve into the deeper parts of the story now, we really hope you enjoy this update! The idea from here on out will be to work at four pages an update, shortening back to three when the update falls close to the posting of a new donation wallpaper. Next update will be one of those.

Don’t forget to check back tomorrow too. Universe-2 will now update every Tuesday, so tomorrow page 2 will go up.

As always, we love you all for any donations you send our way to help us keep UJ hosted and maintained. Please vote for us as well, and help us build some ranks on the comic charts.

IYB updates with a new strip. I’m considering that I’ll either use big strips like the intro and #25 for every 25 strips, or maybe just for significant story purposes. #26 was one that worked best on a 4 panel strip format. It makes me snigger. Given a lack of other pressures and the ability to properly percieve the outcome of an idea, comics should remain on schedule in future.

Now some cool stuff, and for me, embarrassing old stuff. Starting this week, we’re reposting all of the version 1 pages of the UJ comic, as we’ve found new ways to reincorperate it into UJ. It’s still legit happenings, and its titled under the name Universe-2. It has its own archive under the Multiverse heading, and will update 1 page a week until all the siginificant pages are rehosted. There are chances we will revisit U-2 and add more pages of story for it in the future, who knows. I can say, however, looking back on my art of a mere two years ago, I am ashamed that I ever put that on the internet. Eugh.

Don’t forget to work for us on our comic charts and help us climb the ranks, and also remember that for every donation you send us to help keep the site hosted, theres sweet wallpapers for you to enjoy.

Oh yeah, and I fixed my scanner problem the day after the other blew up. Production are go thing right again.

Recently we’ve been delving into the Multiverse. With the recent introduction of the Forumverse (or Universe 3) I decided it was time we rehosted the Original comics. Unlike the current Continuity comics, the story of the characters followed on directly after the disolving of Slightly Out of Order. We weren’t even trying to hide it. At that point we saw ourselves as a break away or spin off group and our characters simply carried on after the horror that they went through.

It was only a few months into this series that I realized things needed to be changed, there was too much emphasis on the negative side of what was going on, and so we rewrote Ultima-Java. To this day it retains a lot of the original story, however in the newest UJ: History, we are looking in more depth at what happened Pre-Ultima-Java, and the difference between the comic and what happened in real life is now much greater.

However, it was that time that shaped us into the people who created Ultima-Java, it was those experiences that brought us to the point of knowing what we wanted to do. So we kept the stories, hidden away.

Now with the opening up of the Multiverse, we are happy to bring back the original Ultima-Java scripts, as Ultima-Java: Universe 2! Maybe, we might visit U-2 in the future with some new scripts. Untill then please enjoy the archive.

As the story of Ultima-Java goes. In the begining there was a single Universe, overtime that Universe was manipulated by evil, a being of pure chaos, untill there was no life in the Universe only Chaos and Order. It was the Lord of Order in that Age who discovered the power of Infinity Majicks, and drawing on this most powerful of attacks The Lord of Order deemed that it was better that the silent Universe be destroyed so that another could be built in it's place. Knowing that this was the ultimate cost, and that he would perish too, he used his majick to destroy the Chaos incarnate.

From that destruction came a new Universe, perfectly balanced in Good and Evil, Chaos and Order. When the first sentient being achived freewill and imaginination the psionic cry of creative life pulsed through the universe and it shattered. Each piece becoming a Universe in it's own right within the Multiverse.

Ultima-Java takes place in U-1, and now we have opened up U-3. The Forumverse!

In the new comic section on the forums, YOU the members of the forums get to decide what happened in Universe 3. You write the history, you write the future, you tell the story! The Forumverse is YOUR Ultima-Java!

Sign up to the forums and write your own destiny!

Wow, don’t the new pages look awesome? Another fantastic piece of artwork from Qeeko. I this chapter I was hoping that I would be ableto delve into the character of Andy frogman a bit more, and get some of the mysteries of the Universe revealed.

So far we’ve looked at the Corridor, a waypoint that encircles the entire galaxy.

The Armoury Ring, a majick (thats how it’s spelt here) artifact that creates a subspace link between the point of origin, that being where the swords are stored, to the ring, causing the swords to materialize and become accessable to Andy in a summoning circle anywhere in the galaxy. (The August Donation Wallpaper is an image of this.)

Now we’re looking at the Corridor Doors. As you may have guessed the Corridor is only accessabel to someone with a Key Rune, like Andy has in page 2. In the latest update it’s explained how the Doors are accessed. Every inhabitable planet is given a doorway from the corridor. For those with the knowledge of building the Temples the doorway leads to locked locations around the planet. However if there is no Temple the Doorway will open in a random location.

More as the news comes in :P

-Other News-

After a long time of trying to get this system right, The Subforums are up and running! This helps keep the forum looking tidy, and also makes it more compact and easyer to view.

The new Donation Wallpaper for August is up and awaiting your generous donations, remember Ultima-Java is kept alive by you! Not a single Penny of what you give to support us will end up in our pockets, it’s puerly used for Webserver rent and maintenance.

If you can’t support us with your donations, you can support us by vote for UJ:History after you’ve read, every vote you can give us raises us higher on the Comic Charts, and gets us noticed by more and more people. Also by signing up to the forums will give you access to more information about the comic, and about other things UJ:CM related, as well as giving you access to a friendly community!

Hope to see you all on there soon!

Hey everyone the August Callendar Wallpaper is now up and ready for your donations! I really recomend this one (why wouldn't I... it's got me in it :P)  This was a request by Pyroneth. She wanted to See Andy with all his swords.

Well ALL his swords was a bit much, so we narrowed it down and here's the finished article. I'm very impressed with this!

Kudos to Qeeko on another Job Well done!

We do encourage you all to show your support for Ultima-Java in anyway you can. Donations are what keeps this site running, and not one penny of the money that we recive in donations goes into any of our pockets, it's recirculated into Ultima-Java it's self.

If you can't Donate anything right now, please sign up to the forums, and vote for our comics. The higher our rank the more views, and the more active our forum the more will come to stay.

Every one of you is an important part of a working community, and it's great to have you all here.

Thanks to all our supporters!

Hit a major problem today, everyone. UJ could be delayed after this Monday’s update, due to technical difficulties. Tonight a finished a drawing and went to scan it, and halfway through, the scanner light just shut off and it froze. I checked all the power cords and drivers, but theres no response. The thing is just dead.

I’m going to try to find a way to remedy this as fast as possible. If I can’t get in fixed I’m going to have to buy a new one quickly. This coming update should be unaffected, and IYB wouldn’t be influenced by the breakdown at all. However in the event any updates are delayed, I do appreciate your patient during this time.

Hey Everyone!

I’ve Just got hold of the money I need to buy myself a camera, this is going to be used for loads of cool stuff, on my Youtube channel as well as on the UJ Channel! I’ll be making some short films to add to the UJ playlist, including announcments on where we intend going next, interviews with other writers, general chat about the comic with the fans and something I’ve wanted to do for a while… a Q and A with the UJ Universe Creative Team.

Keep an eye out for these cool things.

Also Seeing as I’ve only just figured out why my Bulletins weren’t showing up, from now on you’ll get the Ultima-Java Comic and News Uptadtes sent straight to your Youtube inbox if you subscribe to our bullitin board!

Just two updates:

IYB is up today (sorry fo the late news update)
Spotlight: Mauve Mage will be starting in mid August! More on this closer to the date!

If You Believe is set for another Tuesday update this week (that’s tomorrow) due to technical difficulties. IYB is usually at the back of my mind do to the workload UJ creates and so I tend to draw IYB on the day it’s due. Today I can’t work the tablet properly, because my hand is locking up. UJ involves pencil work, scanning and mouse clicking for the most part, and IYB is solely tablet created - however through a lot of work on art things this week my arm has suffered, and so I gotta give IYB a miss today.

So I went and saw Batman. I was really impressed, even if it did feel like it went for 3 hours or more. Joker was fantastic, and as Andy and I have discussed, no one will ever be able to play him the same way as Heath Ledger. Ya went out with a crazy bang, man, kudos for a job well done.

Ultima-Java goodness, just for you! Chapter 3: A Deviant Cause officially kicks off with three shiny pages! this chapter is predominantly written by Andy as some of you would already know, and it delves into his character’s life a little more closely for a while as we take a step back from Qeeko and Stephanos. They’re around somewhere, no doubt.

"Why so serious? "Yes sportsfans, that title is probably well used by now, but lets face it, I’d be worried if everyone WASN’T talking about The Dark Knight. I’ve been looking forward to this for a long time, especially since the tragic death of Heath Ledger. As the last film he ever made, I’m wondering how it will effect the way people remember him. Will people start muttering again about how he drove himself insane working on the Joker character or will he always be ’one of those gay cowboys’ ? I hope to see it later today. I’m keeping my expectations low, because there’s been so much hype for the film its easy to be unimpressed by now by all the trailers and ’sneak peeks’.

See ya folks! Same Bat time, same Bat channel.

:DDD

Hey guys sorry for the late update,  I ment to post this this morning but never got around to it, seeing as I didn't wake up untill 2:30pm. Really bad night.

News for today!

We have a new page of If You Believe up, thats just a click on the button to the right to see that.
Next Monday we'll have the first 3 pages of Ultima-Java Chapter 3. you saw Andy in the corridor in the end of the last chapter, well now lets see where he's heading!
Ultima-Java Spotlight, is coming to a finalle ont he creation end, and so I'll start updating them on a weekly basis starting probably next week. Keep an eye out here or ont he forum for further news conserning that. We once again appologise that it's taken so long.

We like to keep you up to date with whats going on this end of the production, so heres some more info about whats coming up in future chapters.

Ultima-Java Chapter 3 has been written by myself and was decided should be an Andy Frotgman heavy chapter, seeing as the others so far have been mostly focusing on Qeeko and Stephanos as their relationship develops. It will look at Andy as he goes on a his own little adventure with a group of people who seem to be heroes, looking after the little folk of the sparcly populated planets called The Deviants. This will then split into two comics! Ultima-Java will continue with Chapter 4, written by Steve, while Andy Frogman gets to team up with the Deviants in a Solo Series!

I've been hoping to do this for some time, as well as having the run up to Ultima-Java, also having a solo series showing Andy's History, as he struggles through learning who he is and why he's here. It'll just add a little more detail to the story as time goes on!

Chapter 4 will be the end of the storyarch "In The Begining..." and will lead into the next storyarch. We don;t want to give away too many details on this project, but it will include a huge cast of new characters. Chapters 1 and 2 ahave already been started on, and next Saturday, Steve and Myself will be wokring together on a collaberation story for Chapters 3 and 4.

Some of you may know Steve and I went to London last Saturday for the Zombie Walk, and to meet up with Bryony (Paperlillies on youtube) ad Ben (BenLoka on youtube). We had a great day and we ahve a few shots of the things that we saw and the Zombies that attended, even as we terrorized a bar later :P

I'll be making them into a slide show on Youtube later on this week and probably put the photos in a  gallery on the forum.

Come to the Forum Sign up and check it out if you haven't already, it may not look like much at first but there is a hell of alot waiting once you are a registered user!

Also please keep voting for Ultima-Java, we're doing really well and are always going up the charts with every click you give us! Thanks for the support!

All the best!

CHAPTER THE THIRD - by Queen Qeeko

This is a great place to end up, right here. I really enjoyed chapter 2. I really expanded my horizons art wise, I actually wrote something enjoyable that made sense, quite an achievement for someone who is rubbish at writing. The Tip of a Quill was a nice starting point to explore Qeeko, who, at this point, I very much hope would appear rather complicated, and a tiny bit scary. Very pleased, am I.

Now chapter 3, I've been looking forward to this. This is one of the pieces of Andy's backstory that I've been wanting to bring to the screen, and later, the page, for a while now. Firstly because it's an intriguing story, and unlike mine, a little more exciting. Secondly, it's extremely intimidating, artwise. Andy has great visual descriptions, and I'm a complete novice at recreating those. I only hope I won't disappoint you.

Moving on. We're looking to do some more forum upgrades soon so any and all donations are appreciated. We don't use any of the money donated personally, it all goes toward site maintenance. We thank you ahead of time.

Here we are at the first of the month and we have a new wallpaper up for July. Its a special little something I’ve whipped up, and for those that like the speculate, they would be correct that there is a little meaning behind it. Enjoy.

We have a new strip for If You Believe. I would like to point out that ever since the Playlist episode I’ve actually been drawing IYB with the use of a tablet only. This is why the art went a little wobbly right around there, and will be my project for improving my line work with the tablet. I use it for a number of different effects and drawings, but I’m still shaking in my lines. Practice makes perfect, and seeing as I’ll never be perfect, I will practice indefinitely in order to improve.

On comics, our very own forumite Happy Noodle Girl, otherwise known as Robyn, will be releasing her webcomic Welcome to the Family here on UJ later this month. Noodles has been working on this for a while now and we’re all looking forward to reading her tales.

There’s been some changes around here on site and forum alike. The first order of business is the gallery is going to be closed, removed, and replaced with something else. This is decided in order to keep us closer to our vistiors, users and readers. All of our gallery content is being reposted on the forums, and the three admin (Andy, Steve and myself) now have personel sections among the staff forums. On that, the content has moved about a little on the forums, and the Wings of Lythia section is also now removed. Andy has left deviantART to place more focus with his works on the forum and I am going to be slowly making the transition myself. Some of the 100 Theme Challenge I started will still be posted on dA, but most of it will be on UJF.

Finally, keep on voting, sports fans ^^ We’re still climbing ranks in the comic lists

You know after I made the update today I thought I would get on and do some of the pages that needed updating around the site. As such I started on the links that I previously posted about. Then I remembered that the FAQ page hadn’t been updated with the new header, so I fixed that.

It kinda snowballed from there.

The Navigation bar at the top has now been altered to have the Writings and Sprites section removed. The main reason for that is because there wasn’t anything in there. They were dead pages that havn’t been used since they were made over a year ago. Insted I’ve added the Ultima-Java YouTube page to the list and the Forum Calendar. I then had to go in to the forum files and alter the header there two because they were two sepperate files. It was then I realized that by putting the Callendar on the main navigation, it was now visable on the forum twice.

Ponder…

So I simply remove Calendar and add Mark As Read to the forum buttons. So I then had to update the forum buttons to the new style (something I forgot to do a whiel ago). The Calendar button reminded me that I needed to change Comic entries to talk about A Deviant Cause insted of Tip of a Quill, so I altered the calendar entries and that was the forum stuff fixed up.

Finally I updated the Gallery page so that it looked a bit nicer than it did, keeping it uniform with the Armoury Gallery, and adding new descriptions.

So that was more work than I thought I was going to end up doing, but it was all work that needed doing, and I’m glad I got it all out of the way!

So in short, Go check out the new links, go see the new gallery layout, and check out the YouTube account.

Hey guys and Welcome to Ultima-Java Creative Media! If you’ve never graced our site before, let me tall you that you’ve chosen the right time to do so! Coming up in the next few monthswe have a flurry of projects streching forth onto the UJ:CM comics list.

Ultima-Java: History Chapter 2, Tip of a Quill has just come to an end and so in a few weeks time Chapter 3 will be on it’s way! I’ve made an update on the forum giving you a sneak peak at the Cover Sketch.
Also comeing soon will be the long awaited Ultima-Java Spotlight: Mauve Mage comic. We’re currently working on the CGing andthen it’ll be updated weekly!
New comic title coming to UJ very soon will be Welcome to the Family, by a creative team lead by our very own Happy Noodle Girl! Keep an eye out for this, I’ve heard alot about the script and seen the artwork, it’s all coming together nicly!
We’ve all seen the banners floating around for Freedom Falls, and not seen anything from it. It’s been a harsh few months for all involved in this project, but the Writer of Freedom Falls Kelvin Gill, is currently workign his dark and inuenndo magic on a solo project, more on that comic soon!

There have been 2 updates to the Links page, both new links are projects that I am working with.
First of all The Internet Zombie Movie. This started some time back when Youtuber and member of the group Hot For Nerds, told the story of how she was randomly bitten by an old guy while on the London Underground. The sleeping man, jumped to his feet, bit Paperlillies and ran from the train. This vblog (and bruise) can be found on Paperlillies Youtube page. From there she talked about how cool it would be to do a Zombie movie online and bring scenes together from all around the world!

Go check out the Youtube page and the link on the links page. This project is set to hit the record books hard and fast!

The Second project that I’m working with is Wayfarer, with Matthew White. Wayfarer is an RPG game that is being made as a part of a Matthew’s degree, but will be taken further later. The premis of te game is that it’ll be an RPG, that will transition between english and other languages, for english language teaching.
I confess I don’t know much about how this is going to work, I’m purely working on the design and graphic side of things, but the link for the site is up on the Links page, go check it out. Wayfarer needs all the people it can get in all of the main development areas.

I think thats all for now, if I can think of anything else I’ll make another post.
Excelsior!

That stands for Ultima-Java Creative Media News, by the way.

Okay, first of all, two page update this time, and I have valid reasons. The long story short is everything happened to me at once right after the last UJ update and all thing compacted together I was better off doing two pages well than three pages really badly. This was it leaves two clean three pages updates to finish the chapter. A more elaborate explanation is posted on page #24’s newspost and in the comic’s thread on the forums.

Secondly, Andy da tekboi has been doing lots of site updates around the place, include the First and Last buttons on the UJ comic page as well as a separate drop down menu for the chapters. This will be useful :3 There are new additions in the Armoury of the Gallery, and our banner is up for our newest affiliate, Where There’s A Wil.
